L1 & L2 Classes in NYC and LA are currently on hiatus.
Due to Matt's TV writing commitments, all GO-SOLO classes are suspended for the foreseeable future. However, you can still study with our fabulous teachers Christine Renee Miller and Melinda Buckley, who now have their own solo show teaching ventures:
Start your journey here.
You’ll learn the GO-SOLO approach to autobiographical storytelling and character monologues through in-class improvisation, short writing exercises and take-home assignments. It’s fun and supportive – and before you know it, you’ll discover your voice and formulate a strong premise for a longer solo show!
Brief phone interview required for admission.
Please email us for an interview time BEFORE registering for class.
Meets once a week for 4 weeks for 3 to 3.5 hours
Class size: 6 students.

You’ll get individually focused workshop time each week to develop your premise from L1 into a directed, rehearsed and polished 20-minute solo show (or excerpt of a longer show.)
Pre-requisite: L1 (Sorry, no exceptions!)
Meets once a week for seven weeks for 3 to 3.5 hours.
Includes a one-hour private coaching session.
Culminates in a public performance for invited friends in a theatre.
Video of your performance is available to aid in applying to festivals.
L2 can be repeated to develop a full-length (hour-long) solo show.
Class size: 5 students.
Create your full-length solo show.
Not in NYC? Email us to learn how you can bring Matt or Christine to your theatre, school or group with a GO-SOLO Intensive! We can tailor our intensives to the size of your group (from 4 to 40) and the time you desire (from a 3-hour group class to a week-long retreat). We can also arrange to have one of our award-winning alumni perform his or her solo show as part of a GO-SOLO Intensive, followed by a talkback with the artist. GO-SOLO Intensives have been taught to professional actors and playwrights, college and high school students and regular folk - at Princeton University, the Ojai Playwrights Festival, All for One Festival, CityWrights Playwrights Festival and more!
Schedule permitting, our GO-SOLO Instructors are available for private coaching (in person or via Skype) to help develop the writing/performance of your solo show.
